Sprouts to replace former 99 Cents Only Store at Bristol Warner Village

It has been over a year since the former 99 Cents Only Store closed permanently at the corner of Bristol and Warner. After sitting vacant for more than 12 months, the property's longtime owner, NewMark Merrill, announced Thursday that a lease has been signed with Sprouts Farmers Market.
“We’re proud to welcome Sprouts Farmers Market to Santa Ana as a best-in-class grocer that brings fresh, high-quality food options to the community,” said Greg Giacopuzzi, Vice President of Leasing and Development, via a press release. “This location represents a significant upgrade over the dollar store it replaces, and will add a meaningful daily needs component to the center. Sprouts’ investment in this location is a testament to the dynamic and diverse community for those who call Santa Ana home.”
The arrival of Sprouts next year signals a shift in Santa Ana’s commercial landscape, coinciding with broader changes—from the expansion of Bristol Street to the construction of luxury residential developments. While some view the trend as clear gentrification, others seem to welcome the added organic grocery options despite El Super already operating in the same shopping center.
“As a long-time owner of Bristol Warner Village, we are very excited to bring Sprouts Farmers Market to the community” said Sandy Sigal, President and Chief Executive Officer of NewMark Merrill Companies, via a press release. “They are a valuable partner and a key driver at our centers. This new location represents our 6th Sprouts grocery store in our portfolio.”
The new Sprouts is slated to open around October 2026.
