The Santanero welcomes all residents, nonprofits, small businesses, and local officials to invite the community to events they host or services they provide. To submit an event, click here to be redirected. It is free!

Use the search icon in the CommunityCal. If you can't find the event, ensure the event wasn't canceled or postponed. Check with the event host for more information.

How do I submit my opinion?

  1. Read our guidelines below.
  2. Write your piece.
  3. Submit it to our Google Form.

Opinion Guidelines

All opinion submissions must:

  • Have an author's name (first and last)
  • Have a headline
  • Be 600 words, but no more than 850 words
  • Not be attacking someone or something, be respectful
  • Have a clear argument or position
  • Free of plagiarism
  • Have the author give a one to two sentence bio
  • The author's locality (Ward or City)
  • No advertising of business(es) or promotions in relations to business transactions
  • Cannot be or will be published somewhere else
  • Author photo

Optional:Having images (with permission to republish)

Deadlines

If you’re on a timecrunch, submit your form and email us promptly. Rushed opinions will not be considered if not all rules are followed. These opinions are only applicable for social media and website publication, not on our e-newspaper. If you’re not on a deadline, here’s ours: all submissions must be sent by Monday at 5:00 PM to be considered for social media and website publishing on Thursday morning.
