Become a Contributor

Santanero Media Group welcomes contributors from across the Santa Ana community and beyond. We are committed to creating a platform where local voices, perspectives, and stories can be shared and amplified.

Who can contribute

We encourage submissions from:

• Students and aspiring journalists
• Community members with local insight
• Writers, photographers, and creatives
• Individuals with unique perspectives or lived experiences

No prior publishing experience is required, however writing is required!

What we’re looking for

We're currently opening up contributions to our:

• Sports section

All submissions should be original work and aligned with our mission of community-focused journalism.

Contributor model

At this time, contributors participate on a voluntary basis. Submissions are accepted on an open and flexible basis, and there is no requirement for ongoing or scheduled contributions.

Contributors are not employees of Santanero Media Group, LLC, and participation does not create an employment relationship.

As the publication grows and revenue develops, we aim to expand into paid contributor opportunities.

What contributors receive

While contributions are currently unpaid, we provide:

• Full byline credit on all published work
• Author bio and recognition
• Portfolio-building opportunities
• Exposure to a growing audience

Our goal is to support emerging voices and provide a meaningful platform for community storytelling.

Editorial process

All submissions are subject to editorial review. We may edit for:

• Clarity and readability
• Grammar and formatting
• Alignment with publication standards

We may also decline submissions that do not meet our guidelines or editorial direction.
