Our approach is simple: sponsorships should be clearly identified, relevant to our audience, and completely separate from our editorial decisions.

Newsletter Sponsorships

Connect with readers who follow The Santanero for local news, community information, and updates from across Santa Ana.

Newsletter sponsorships may include a clearly identified sponsor acknowledgment or promotional message within an eligible newsletter edition.

Sponsorship availability, placement, frequency, and formatting are subject to review and confirmation.

Social Media Series Sponsorships

Support recurring social media features that help keep the Santa Ana community informed and connected.

Eligible opportunities may include sponsorship of our news recap series, community roundups, and other recurring informational content.

Sponsors may receive clearly identified acknowledgments associated with an eligible series or installment.

Sponsorship does not provide control over the stories selected, information presented, editorial tone, or conclusions.

Community-Focused Sponsorships

We may consider additional sponsorship opportunities for special community-focused initiatives, informational series, or eligible projects developed by The Santanero.

These opportunities are evaluated individually based on relevance, availability, editorial independence, and consistency with our advertising standards.

What We Don't Offer

To protect the independence of our reporting and maintain the trust of our readers, The Santanero does not offer:

Traditional website display advertising or banner placements;
Paid placements within regular news articles;
Sponsored news articles, advertorials, or native advertising;
Paid editorial coverage, interviews, or favorable reporting;
Paid opinion placement or influence over editorial decisions; or
Political campaign advertising or election-related promotional sponsorships.

Sponsorships are limited to clearly identified promotional opportunities that remain separate from independent journalism.

We welcome sponsorship inquiries from eligible local businesses, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, community organizations, licensed professionals, cultural organizations, and other businesses serving Santa Ana and surrounding communities.

All prospective sponsors and promotional materials are subject to review under our Advertising Guidelines.

Certain products, services, industries, and advertiser relationships are not eligible for sponsorship.

Our Sponsorship Standards

Your sponsorship supports our journalism. It does not purchase our journalism.

The Santanero maintains full editorial control over its reporting, news selection, editorial priorities, investigations, opinions, and other journalistic work.

Sponsors cannot request favorable coverage, influence story selection, approve editorial content, or condition their financial support on particular reporting outcomes.

Sponsorship acknowledgments are clearly identified and do not constitute an endorsement by The Santanero.

All sponsorships are subject to review, approval, scheduling, and availability. We reserve the right to decline, suspend, or discontinue sponsorship arrangements in accordance with our Advertising Guidelines.

Looking to celebrate a personal milestone rather than sponsor a publication feature?

The Santanero also accepts paid Community Notices for births, engagements, weddings, birthdays, quinceañeras, anniversaries, obituaries, and other significant life events.

Community Notices have separate rates and submission requirements and do not constitute sponsorships or editorial coverage.
