1. Introduction

Santanero Media Group, LLC (“Santanero Media Group,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a digital media and broadcasting organization that includes The Santanero and KSNG-DB “Santanero Radio.” This Privacy Policy applies to all websites, newsletters, streaming services, and related platforms we operate (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, subscription or membership details, payment information when applicable, and any communications or content you submit. We also collect certain information automatically when you interact with our Services, such as your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, pages visited, and how you engage with our content. As a media organization, we may also collect information about your reading, listening, and viewing habits to better understand audience interests and improve our journalism and programming.

In addition, some data may be processed through our publishing platform provider, Ghost, which supports content delivery, membership management, and email distribution.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to operate and maintain our Services, deliver news content and radio programming, personalize your experience, process subscriptions or donations, and communicate with you about updates, newsletters, or service-related matters. We also use information to analyze usage trends, improve our platform, ensure security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations. In some cases, we may use aggregated or anonymized data for analytics and operational improvements.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep our Services functioning properly, understand how users interact with our content, and improve performance. These technologies may store small pieces of information on your device that help recognize returning users and maintain sessions.

Our platform provider, Ghost, may also use cookies and tracking technologies necessary for site functionality, performance monitoring, and secure authentication. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though doing so may affect certain features of the Services.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense. However, we may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate our Services, including hosting providers, email delivery services, analytics platforms, and payment processors. Some of these services may be integrated through our use of Ghost.

Ghost may act as a data processor on our behalf, meaning it processes personal information only according to our instructions and for the purpose of providing publishing, hosting, and membership-related services.

We may also share limited information with advertising or analytics partners to support our media operations and understand audience engagement. In addition, we may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.

6. Third-Party Services

Our Services may include links to third-party websites, platforms, or embedded content. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, including services integrated through our publishing platform, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your information may be stored and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Through our use of Ghost, data may be hosted on secure infrastructure managed by third-party cloud providers.

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, though no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our Services, fulfill legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Data processed through Ghost is retained according to our configuration and operational needs, and may be deleted or anonymized when no longer required.

9. California Privacy Notice (CCPA/CPRA)

This section applies to residents of California and describes your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). We may collect categories of personal information such as identifiers, customer records, internet activity, approximate geolocation, and inferences about preferences. This information is collected directly from you, automatically through your use of the Services, and from service providers, including those supporting our publishing platform.

We use this information to operate our Services, deliver content, personalize experiences, process transactions, improve performance, and maintain security. We may disclose personal information to service providers, analytics partners, advertising partners, and legal authorities when required. While we do not sell personal information in the traditional sense, certain data-sharing practices may be considered “sharing” under California law.

California residents have the right to request access to the personal information we collect about them, request deletion of that information, request correction of inaccurate information, opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and limit the use of sensitive personal information where applicable. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To submit a request, you may contact us at privacy@santanero.org. Your request should include your name, the email address associated with your account, the type of request you are making, and a clear description of your request.
