Two killed, one wounded in suspected gang-related shooting in Mid-City

Authorities say the shooting occurred Sunday evening, where three men were found with gunshot wounds, two of whom died from their injuries.

Santa Ana Police is investigating a deadly shooting that left two men dead and another injured late Sunday night, in what detectives believe may be a gang-related incident.

According to a press release, officers and the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to multiple reports of gunfire shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Borchard Avenue and Shelton Street.

The two agencies discovered three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims, 49-year-old Santa Ana resident Eusebio Villareal, was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

A second victim, identified as 46-year-old Marlon Jaime Castillo of Fullerton, was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

The third unidentified victim, a 43-year-old man from Los Angeles, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and is expected to survive.

Authorities have indicated that details remain limited as the case is still under active investigation.
